The inspiration for this work comes from the fable story of the famous Chinese philosopher Zhuang Zhou during the Warring States period. It tells the story of Zhuang Zhou dreaming of turning into a butterfly, not knowing whether he turned into a butterfly in his dream or if the butterfly turned into himself in his dream. It implies that people and things can communicate and transform with each other, reflecting the Taoist concept of “objectification”. Entering this immersive space, let us gaze upon the starry sea and imagine a life as vast as a dream. In my dream, there is a vast kingdom where we sometimes transform into sparkling big fish, leisurely wandering in the boundless galaxy, and sometimes into carefree butterflies.
Following the freedom of nature, there is no better place to live in the world.
This is a dream building journey from participation to creation, using wristbands to release algorithm generated butterflies, allowing them to stay on the shoulders or dance with them. Walking on the starry sea, it affects the flight trajectory of butterflies on the ground, while also leaving its own trail.
